COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
The YMCA of Coastal Georgia seeks to serve the unique needs of our varied communities by reaching out neighborhood by neighborhood through various Y programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
The Goal of the YMCA is to bring the Y experience to high risk areas within the YMCA service area and to develop partnerships with other community agencies whose mission compliments the purpose of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia’s programs.
Community Development Department Areas
Teen Program: Assist teens within the community and provide them with programs that offer them guidance in various stages of their lives.
· Teen Achievers Professional Careers and College Readiness Program serving Chatham and Liberty County.
· Teen Recreation & Character Building Program serving Liberty County, Richmond Hill, and Islands.
· Teen Outreach Program serving Tybee, Islands, and Liberty County.

Y on Wheels Program: Outreach program that brings the Y experience to youths in disadvantaged areas.
· Year Round Site Service serving 9 sites within Chatham County.
· Summer Y on Wheels serving Liberty County.

21st Century Community Learning Center: Help to raise CRCT scores by recruiting, training, and supervising youth advocates to assist teachers with after school academic tutoring.
