Community Playground Coming October 2010

This Playground will be located between the West Chatham YMCA and the new Pooler Recreation Park and will be open to Everyone! We estimate the playground to cover 17,000 square feet and feature elements to focus on coordination, physical fitness, and creativity.

This playground project will be all about teamwork having at least 1,200 volunteers involved.  It is being built and funded by community volunteers.

The major objectives for this Community Playground Project are as follows:

1. Create a safe, accessible, outdoor play space for children aged two to twelve
focusing on coordination, physical fitness, and creativity

2. Provide children with special needs a safe outdoor place to play while providing a
variety of access points and accessible playground features.

3. Work to eradicate childhood obesity by encouraging children to engage in 60
minutes of recommended physical activity on a daily basis
