Founder's Campaign
Shaping McIntosh
The Need
A survey of McIntosh County residents revealed a belief that there is a need for a YMCA in the community. The survey respondents agreed with confidence that the creation of a YMCA will lead to:
- Strengthened families
- Programs that emphasize character building
- Improved citizenship among the youth of the community
- Partnerships for after school programs
- Wellness and fitness opportunities for all age groups
The First Step
Under the guidance of the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, the first step of building a strong YMCA for McIntosh County is to conduct a Founder’s Campaign. This initial seed money will allow the YMCA to establish a funding base for the first three years of operation.
The Community Response
The McIntosh County Founder’s Campaign Steering Community has a goal to raise $150,000 to provide for the first three years of operation.
The Founder’s Campaign:
- Demonstrates a final test of community commitment to determine ultimate sustainability
- Identifies future leadership and a strong organization volunteer base
- Provides funds for the first 36 months of operation
- Allows the YMCA to become operational
