PRYME TYME Programs are held
at the school your child attends
In 1989, the YMCA of Coastal Georgia established a program with the local school boards to help working parents in the community. The program was a before and after school care program that would be held at the elementary schools. This program was called Pryme Tyme. Pryme Tyme has now expanded to cover schools in Chatham and Effingham County as well as Liberty County.
Pryme Tyme is a program that provides a structured curriculum for the elementary grades student. Our staff consists of teachers, paraprofessionals, college students and other dedicated adults responsible for maintaining this environment for the children.
As the children arrive after a long day at school, they are allotted thirty minutes of required homework time. After this, they may choose from a variety of supervised activities. These activities include active games and sports, arts and crafts, and reading. In addition, the children are provided with a snack and drink.

PRYME TYME PROGRAMS ARE NOT JUST SUPERVISED PLAYGROUNDS.
WE MAINTAIN A RATIO OF ONE COUNSELOR FOR EVERY FIFTEEN TO EIGHTEEN CHILDREN. THIS PROVIDES PLENTY OF INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION, AS WELL AS SMALL GROUP ACTIVITIES, HOMEWORK, GAMES, SPORTS, AND MORE.
